Ideal for construction sites, parking lots, and industrial facilities with lower water volume and less sediment, this strong, open-top bag hangs below the grate to filter oil and sediment-laden stormwater. The suspended solids are conveniently captured by the Streamguard prior to entering the inlet, ensuring regulatory-compliance every time.

Step 1

Remove the grate from the catch basin.

Step 2

Clean dirt and debris from inlet ledge.

Step 3

Insert Streamguard.

Step 4

Reinstall grate. The top fabric portion should be pinched between the grate and the ledge.

Step 5

Cut off excess fabric with a utility knife.

Remove all accumulated sediment and debris from the vicinity of unit after each storm
After each storm event, and at regular intervals, inspect the Streamguard sediment control unit. If it has approximately 6 inches of accumulated sediment, it is recommended that it be replaced. In addition, if oil is seen floating in the storm drain filter, it’s time to replace it.
Dispose of Streamguard in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local environmental laws and regulations. The user is solely responsible for compliance with maintenance and disposal laws. What is Streamguard designed for?

Streamguard is an economical, light-duty storm grate filtration solution that is ideal for construction sites, parking lots, and industrial facilities with lower water volume and less sediment. How does Streamguard filter stormwater?

In order to capture suspended solids before they enter the storm drain inlet, Streamguard uses an open-top bag that hangs below the grate. In addition to sediment, it also traps oil, helping keep waterways cleaner while supporting regulatory compliance.

How effective is Streamguard at removing sediment and oil?

Streamguard removes more than 80% of sediment and debris while permanently absorbing and trapping oil. Its design helps prevent these pollutants from entering the stormwater system.
